Employment Training Opportunity for Veterans Only
Program Starts January 2011
Veterans Green Jobs and the Bucks County Community College Green Jobs Academy are pleased to announce that applications are currently being accepted for the 2nd Program (Cohort 2) of an exciting opportunity for U.S. Military Veterans interested in electrical and solar training.
This program, in association with the Independent Electrical Contractors (IEC-Chesapeake), will prepare 16 veterans to take advantage of career pathways through programs focused on Electrical Pre-Apprenticeship with an introduction to Solar PV basics.
Veterans will receive:
- Pre-apprenticeship preparation for a four year electrical apprenticeship progra
- Certification in OSHA 10, First Aid and CPR
- Opportunity to sit for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) Entry Level Exam
- Placement in an ALL-Veterans training group
- 12 weeks of training including: electrical, Solar PV, sustainability and “hands-on” internships
- Job search assistance
Veterans who are residents of Pennsylvania with their own housing and transportation
