Carlos Espinoza, HVAC Manager

Carlos Espinoza

Carlos has been in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning industry for over 18 years as a technician, supervisor, manager and general manager. His motivation is to take care of his technicians and clients in a safe and reliable manor.  Carlos has experience with and knowledge of many of the HVAC brands that are out in the industry right now, and he likes to keep learning new things every day.

Carlos is from Los Angeles, California and is a retired U.S. Air Force veteran. He has lived in Colorado for over eight years and loves the outdoors and the relaxing atmosphere it offers.

For Carlos, helping people, and helping them save energy and the environment, are the greatest pay-offs in working with Veterans Green Jobs.

Walt Heppard, HVAC Technician

Walt Heppard

Walt has over 37 years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field and specializes in industrial, commercial and residential work. He is experienced in all aspects of the job including new installation, retrofitting and service.

Walt is a Denver Steam & Hot Water journeyman, a certified welder, and CFC (cooling furnace and corrosion)-Universal certified.

Walt is from Mickleton, New Jersey. He is a Vietnam veteran who spent eight years in the U.S. Navy and attended the University of Hawaii. His hobbies include spending time with family, nature, fishing and biking, Walt enjoys the mechanics and result of making things work at Veterans Green Jobs—and shares the organization’s dedication to helping veterans.

Jay Foxworth, HVAC Technician

Jay Foxworth

Jay has 20 years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning industry. He excels at installation, ductwork, airflow and troubleshooting. Safety and professionalism are Jay’s top priorities.

Jay is a Colorado native who grew up in Denver. He has many hobbies including sports, carpentry, gardening, chess and maintaining reef tanks with exotic fish.

When asked what he likes about his job at Veterans Green Jobs, Jay replies, “I like that we can help people.”

 

 

 

Ron Piz, HVAC Technician

Ron Piz

Ron has 19 years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field. He excels at residential repair and installation, and specializes in getting the highest efficiency possible from furnaces.

Ron is a Colorado native from Lakewood. A few of his many hobbies are playing soccer and hockey, camping, riding motorcycles, and watching and coaching his two boys in various sports.

When asked what he likes about working with Veterans Green Jobs, he responds, “Helping people save energy and money. When we find a problem that is really wasting a lot of energy and costing the client lots of extra money, and we are able to correct that situation, it gives me the most satisfaction.”

Sean Strotheide, HVAC Technician

Sean Strotheide

Sean has 17 years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field. He excels at installation and repair work. He will answer any questions and has helpful advice for maintenance to keep clients’ units running great.

Sean is from Rapid City, South Dakota and moved to Colorado in 1976. His hobbies include video games, anything sci-fi and online poker.

When asked about what he likes about working with Veterans Green Jobs, Sean describes how fulfilling the work is and “the business integrity that VGJ displays.”

 

 

Ben Baterna, HVAC Technician

Ben Baterna

Ben has 16 years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field. Proficient with both commercial and residential work, Ben excels at troubleshooting, service and repair. He is familiar with a variety of HVAC brands and their sequence of operation. Ben’s vast amount of experience and specialized knowledge will provide clients with quality work and the confidence that he can fix it correctly the first time.

Ben is originally from the Philippines. One year after moving to the U.S., he joined the Army and retired after 20 years of service. Ben settled in Aurora in 1991 after his retirement because he enjoys the climate and the easy pace of the city. One of Ben’s favorite hobbies is fixing things. Helping people and camaraderie with his fellow peers are a couple of the aspects of his work that he enjoys at Veterans Green Jobs.

Abdel Fakhraoui, HVAC Technician

Abdel Fakhraoui

Abdel has seven years of experience in the heating, ventilation and air conditioning field and specializes in installations, repairs, boilers and water heaters.  He has been working in the nonprofit sector for the last seven years and gets a “great feeling” from helping people who need it and the difference we make.

Abdel is a perfectionist and wants clients to know that when he finishes a job, they will be very satisfied and happy with his work.

When asked what he likes about working at Veterans Green jobs, he says, “Helping people that need help and seeing their expressions when we finish a furnace installation is the greatest feeling.”
