Veterans Green Jobs board member Dr. Bill Doe ran with 25,000 other runners, including wounded warriors, active duty members and military veterans in the Army 10-mile run at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. This year’s event, held on October 4, 2009, was the 25th anniversary of this major running event, which has become the largest 10-miler event in the U.S. Dr. Doe finished the run in 73 minutes, 46 seconds, placing in the top 4% of his age category. He sported a Veterans Green Jobs bandanna during the run and donned a VGJ T-shirt for the post-race party. At the party he met Congressman Patrick Murphy (D-PA), a race finisher, who acknowledged his support for Veterans Green Jobs. Congratulations to Dr. Doe and Congressman Murphy for finishing the 10-miler with style.
