On Veterans Day, November 11, 2011, Rocky Mountain PBS in Denver aired a special segment about military veterans. The program, ”Colorado State of Mind: Helping Our Veterans,” featured a discussion about the current situation of veterans with regard to jobs, housing and reintegration issues, and the impacts of these challenges on veterans and their families.
The program began with a short video profile featuring Veterans Green Jobs.
Discussion panelists included Joe Rice, a former Colorado legislator; Bill Doe, CEO of Veterans Green Jobs; Andy Meverden, state chaplain of the Colorado National Guard; and Lisa Strauss, coordinator of the homeless program at the VA Medical Center in Grand Junction, Colorado.
