Weatherization Underground: Crawlspace Retrofit

Crawlspace retrofit is literally the low hanging fruit of energy efficiency. Three major energy savings strategies are seal ductwork, air seal holes in the building envelope and create a warm crawl space by insulating the foundation and adding a vapor barrier on the ground. This keeps floors warm, prevents pipes from freezing, and brings the hvac system inside of the thermal envelope.
