Nov. 2, 2011, DENVER, Colo. — On November 11, 2011, Veterans Green Jobs, a national, veteran-focused nonprofit organization, will host its 2nd annual Veterans Day Breakfast. The event was created to honor and applaud the generations of military veterans who have bravely served our nation. This year’s breakfast will feature keynote speaker, James F. Yacone, Special Agent in Charge (SAC) of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) for Colorado and Wyoming. Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper will also be present to make remarks.
Mr. Yacone is a 1987 graduate of West Point and served eight years in the U.S. Army. He is a highly-decorated veteran who was awarded the Silver Star and the Purple Heart during the Battle of Mogadishu in 1993.
Mr. Yacone began his career with the FBI in 1995 in the Philadelphia Division where he investigated violent drug trafficking organizations, organized crime and financial institution fraud. He later served in the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group as an Operator with the Hostage Rescue Team, Supervisory Special Agent and Unit Chief, deploying to multiple critical incidents and major investigations around the world in support of the global war on terrorism. In 2007, Mr. Yacone was appointed as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Richmond Division’s National Security Branch. Concurrently, he was selected by Director Mueller to lead a strategic merger to create the FBI’s Surveillance and Aviation Section. Prior to his current assignment as the FBI SAC, Mr. Yacone served as the Chief of the Tactical Section in the Critical Incident Response Group.
This year’s event will be held at the Denver Police Protective Association and be attended by numerous elected officials, military honorees, veterans and active servicemen and women, local luminaries, and event sponsors.
