Veterans Green Jobs Sells Go Green Warehouse to Veterans Entrepreneurial Trust

DENVER, March 18, 2013 – Veterans Green Jobs announces it has sold the Go Green Warehouse, its retail store selling home improvement goods to the public, to Veterans Entrepreneurial Trust, another Denver-based nonprofit organization which also has a mission to serve military veterans. The sale is the result of Veterans Green Jobs’ decision to focus its efforts on creating greater financial stability for its veteran employment program, which is more closely aligned with the organization’s mission.

“We regret having to part ways with the store, which we launched in 2011 to generate revenue for our programs that create employment opportunities for veterans,” said Bill Doe, CEO of Veterans Green Jobs. “The store has been successful in helping Veterans Green Jobs become more visible to the Denver metro community. However, as a young nonprofit organization, the board of directors felt that Veterans Green Jobs needs to maintain a solid focus on building the infrastructure for and expanding our employment program so that we can put more veterans to work in the green sector. We found that operating a retail store was not a feasible activity for us at this time, financially or operationally, and was taking our focus away from our mission.”

Doe continued, “The sale of the Go Green Warehouse to Veterans Entrepreneurial Trust is a logical and timely business decision. It allows the store to continue in a mission to serve military veterans, while continuing to provide great deals to Denver-area customers. We are very fortunate to have found another veteran-focused nonprofit to take the Go Green Warehouse to the next level and give it the attention it deserves.”

Veterans Entrepreneurial Trust (VET) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to provide financial capital to military veteran entrepreneurs working to make a positive impact on their communities. In addition to operating the Go Green Warehouse as a revenue-generating mechanism, VET will provide lines of credit and low-interest loans to other nonprofits aligned with VET’s mission. More information about VET is available at www.gogreenwarehouse.org.
