Veterans Green Jobs makes it easier than ever to “go solar” on your home. We offer the option to purchase or lease your solar system, and through our partnership with WJB Energy, we offer financing options that make buying and leasing both easy and affordable. Putting Veterans to Work
Veterans Green Jobs is on a mission to employ military veterans in green job sectors. We hire veterans to install our solar panels, and provide on-the-job training so that veterans can develop new skill sets and increase their employability after they leave our program. By helping veterans successfully transition into the civilian workforce, we aim to decrease the high rates of unemployment that are currently affecting millions of former service members. Our goal is to place 300 veterans into jobs by mid-2013.
Revenue Generation for Our Nonprofit
Veterans Green Jobs is a 501 c 3 nonprofit organization, and all revenues from our solar services support programs that put veterans to work in a variety of sustainability sectors. These include energy efficiency / conservation; renewable / clean energy; green construction / building; natural resources / conservation; environmental remediation / response; and sustainable agriculture. Trusted Partners
We partner with WJB Energy (part of a family of companies owned by W.J. Bradley Mortgage Capital) to provide low-interest loans through the PowerSaver program. W.J. Bradley has been chosen by the Federal Housing Administration to offer PowerSaver loans to homeowners for energy-efficient improvements. Additionally, through a grant with the Colorado Energy Office and the U.S. Department of Energy, we are offering free solar installation services to 40 income-qualified residents in Denver and Jefferson County.
Track Record
Since 2009, Veterans Green Jobs has provided residential energy efficiency services to an annual average of 1,200 households in Denver, Jefferson and the San Luis Valley through a contract with the Colorado Energy Office. By providing weatherization upgrades to households that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford these services, Veterans Green Jobs has helped residents lower their utility bills, stay warmer, safer and more comfortable throughout the year, and contribute to a lower carbon footprint.
